Where are you from?
I am from Pakistan but grew up in the scorching heat of the middle east, in the hustle and bustle of Dubai.
Where did you go to Medical School?
Ziauddin University, Karachi, Pakistan.
Why did you choose NW Internal Medicine Residency?
It perfectly aligns with my goal of contributing to community outreach initiatives. My favorite part of working with my NW family is direct patient care opportunity which allows me to build a strong foundation in clinical medicine while experiencing the rewards of serving a diverse and often underserved patient population. This, I feel, will prepare me to be a well-rounded physician capable of thriving in any healthcare environment.
What are your professional interests within Medicine?
My love for the depth and breadth that the Internal Medicine lifestyle offers adds to the clear advantage that I get to serve as the first point-of-contact in patient-centered care, allowing me to foster a holistic approach to medicine, focusing not just on the disease but also on the patient’s social and economic context. I am currently passionate about furthering my passion in the vast field of Gastroenterology.
What are your interests or hobbies outside of Medicine?
On my time-off, I enjoy reading fictional books, watching movies and going out to try out new restaurants with friends and family.
