Thank you for your interest in the Northwest Healthcare (Tucson) Internal Medicine Residency Program. Our mission and vision is to graduate outstanding internists who are prepared for today’s challenges in patient care, whether they chose to pursue a career in general internal medicine or move forward with advanced fellowship training. Our program seeks to train hardworking, honest resident physicians who are prepared to give their best each day; learners who are ready to apply themselves and become part of a residency program that respects them as individuals, acknowledges their contributions and values their career goals. We are all lifelong learners here and we’re happy you’re considering Northwest Healthcare (Tucson) Internal Medicine Residency for the next stage of your career.

Our program aims are:

To value the importance of resident wellness and continuously aim to promote physical, spiritual, professional, intellectual, emotional and social well-being

To offer a supportive, nurturing environment where resident physicians can fulfill their fullest potential as clinicians, educators and leaders

To provide a structured academic foundation in the six core competencies of patient care, medical knowledge, professionalism, interpersonal and communication skills, practice-based learning and improvement and systems-based practice with an emphasis on diversity, subspecialty exposure, community practice, administration and research opportunities, and.

To demonstrate our commitment to our residents by keeping in mind individualized career interests, learning styles and overall goals in medicine as we guide program participants throughout training.
