Dear Prospective Residents,

Welcome to Northwest Healthcare Transitional Year Residency Program! We are a newly ACGME-accredited one-year multidisciplinary medicine training program located in beautiful Southwest Arizona. Our program’s core purpose and mission is to provide quality fundamental clinical and educational experiences and teach the lifelong learning skills necessary for our residents to excel during their subsequent training years and beyond.

Our program’s primary aims for achieving our mission are:

  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with the program directors of the advanced standing programs where residents will continue their training to ensure smooth transitions
  • Provide a well-rounded curriculum that prepare residents for the next phase of their career, regardless of whether the resident is matched or unmatched into an advanced standing program
  • Utilize timely feedback and mentorship opportunities to guide residents’ study habits, integration of feedback into practice, and determine optimal elective rotations
  • Maintain a culture of inclusion within our participating training sites and our program faculty that provides residents with a safe, education-focused learning environment in which to flourish
  • Provide faculty development that aligns with these aims and the mission of our program.
