Dr. Bowen grew up in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from East Tennessee State University before attending medical school at Lincoln Memorial University – DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine. He went on to join the United States Navy, completing an internship in Internal Medicine at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center then served as a medical officer for four years; including two years onboard the U.S.S Green Bay.
His special interests include traveling and hiking.
