Why did you choose NW Transitional Year Residency?
I chose Northwest Transitional Year because of the incredible people I met during my interview day. I got a great sense of the community and culture of the program, and I knew this was an environment that would help me grow and thrive as a physician.
What were your favorite electives during your TY residency?
My favorite elective was the Radiation Oncology rotation, because of the balanced mix of clinic and procedures, and I enjoyed getting to learn about the use of imaging for radiation treatment planning.
What are your professional interests within your specialty?
I’m interested in pursuing fellowship in Neuroradiology, and I aspire to become an academic radiologist.
What did you enjoy most about life in Tucson
The weather is absolutely phenomenal, and the restaurants were amazing. I loved watching the sunsets.
Favorite way to spend a day off?
Hanging out with my husband and cat, playing videogames together.
Any advice for future interns?
Take this year as an opportunity to become a well rounded doctor. You’ll get to see and experience many things that you may not get in your advanced program, so take advantage of this time.
